EN9 Carbon Steel

EN9 is a high-carbon steel (0.5% – 0.6% Carbon) that provides greater wear resistance than EN8 or C45. It is specifically used for parts that require a harder surface without moving into the higher-cost alloy steel brackets.

Certified Quality Assurance

Integrity is the core of our supply chain at Progressive Metal Manufacturing. We provide full material traceability for all EN9 carbon steel orders, offering BS EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates or cast and analysis reports upon request. Our technical sales team is dedicated to assisting you with specific grade enquiries to ensure your final products meet all necessary safety and performance standards.

Industrial Applications & Versatility

EN9 is a preferred material for the production of heavy-duty tools and mechanical components subjected to consistent friction.

Its excellent response to heat treatment makes it suitable for:

Precision Tooling: Woodworking drills, knives, sickles, and industrial hammers.

Transmission Components: High-performance crankshafts, shafts, and axes.

Mechanical Parts: Durable bushes, high-tensile screws, and general engine components.

Precision Supply & Custom Specifications

We maintain a comprehensive stock of EN9 round bars, available to support both specialized prototypes

and large-scale manufacturing runs. Our facility is equipped with high-performance sawing technology,

allowing us to deliver sawn-to-length pieces cut to your exact dimensional requirements.

Whether you need full-length bars or precise cut blanks, we ensure your material is ready for immediate machining.
