C45 (1045) Carbon Steel

C45 is a medium-carbon steel widely used in applications where a higher strength than mild steel is required, but the cost of an alloy steel is not justified. It offers good machinability and responds well to induction hardening for localized wear resistance.

Industrial Applications & Versatility

We maintain a comprehensive inventory of C45 in various forms to suit your specific production methods.

Our stock includes Hot Rolled, Cold Drawn, and Forged Solid Round Bars,

typically supplied in an annealed condition for ease of initial processing.

We also provide flat sections and plates tailored to your structural requirements.

Round Bars: Diameters ranging from 10mm to 650mm.

Steel Sheets/Plates: Thicknesses from 10mm up to 350mm.

Square Bars: Available from 10mm to 200mm.

Flat Bars: Widths ranging from 30mm to 255mm.

Precision Supply & Custom Specifications

C45 is a "workhorse" grade, ideal for both high-volume fasteners and custom-forged machinery parts.

Its mechanical reliability makes it the preferred choice for:

Fasteners: Carriage bolts, cylinder head studs, U-bolts, and plow bolts.

Construction: Tie wires and concrete reinforcing rods.

Mechanical Components: General machine parts, forged housings, and non-critical spring applications.
